We provide training and facilitate sustainability certification of tour operators and accommodation providers in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The project is part of Switch Asia, a EU-funded programme promoting sustainable consumption and production in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, Mongolia and China. Our role was to design and deliver trainings, group coaching and also provide individual consulting for tourism companies willing to improve their sustainability performance and marketing. In the period between July to November 2020, we organised over 50 online trainings, meetings and webinars for over 150 participants. This is an ongoing project. Sustainability certification, trainings for destinations and universities are yet to come.

We have provided a full sustainability consulting and operational support for an international tour operator Urban Adventures (Intrepid Group), which included developing a sustainability strategy, preparing the company for acquiring a sustainability certification, training their ground agents in 150 destinations around the world, developing and growing company's In Focus tours, a product line run in collaboration with nonprofits and social enterprises, and finally creating sustainability reporting and impact assessment tools. (Project realised in years 2018-2020).

We have consulted and trained several companies on their sustainability communications and marketing. One of the projects was delivered for Forum Anders Reisen, a German association of sustainable tour operators. We have analysed their members websites against a number of sustainability criteria and provided a full report on how to improve their communications to attract more customers. We have also worked with TUI Group, for which we designed a customer survey, which helped the company better strategise their further sustainability actions.

Anula Galewska is the Co-Founder of Travindy, an international news site discussing the most important tourism issues in the context of sustainable development. Established in 2012, Travindy is now a well-recognised news portal, available in English and Spanish. On behalf of Travindy, Anula has been working with brands like The National Geographic, and has been interviewing the leaders and brightest minds of sustainable tourism from around the world.
